Not my day

Ugh. Today is definitely not my day.

Kaya and DragonT gone at BGC Stopover

I got cut in traffic by a stupid car.

Grab rider won’t walk to the lobby to deliver my food. I already noted to meet in the lobby but he wouldn’t, even asking me if “hindi po ba kayo makakalabas?”. No kuya I don’t want to, that’s the fucking point. My entitlement gave him 1 star for his attitude. This never happens when it’s my husband who picks up our food. I hate men.

Today

✱ Currently in the office on a Wednesday because Monday was a Holiday. It’s pretty gloomy and we’re on orange alert the past few days. I thought parking would be easy in the office as no one would want to come in but I still ran out of slots. Good thing there’s one pay parking slot available in the building so at least I don’t have to go outside. Now I’m thinking if I’ll just pay the whole 150 and leave by 11pm, or move my car to our free parking zone when slots become available, that way I only need to pay 50. Thing is, I’m already in the building and I’m parked nose out so I kinda don’t want to trouble myself anymore haha. Fine I’ll just withdraw 150 lol.

✱ I don’t know if I want to walk out and explore today because it’s been raining the whole afternoon. I kinda want to get a couple thousand steps to compensate for being too lazy to swim earlier.

✱ We just terminated our Anytime Fitness membership so our last month will be this September. We’ll be saving 4,500 a month which means a lot, but I’m also slightly regretting losing gym access. Well, truth be told we haven’t been to the gym in months so that’s a big waste of money, and we never really go in the off hours so AF being 24hrs open never really benefitted us in the whole 18 months of our membership.

✱ If I really wanted to work out I can just go down to our condo gym. Anyway I only need a bike and a treadmill. Or maybe we’ll look for a personal coach within the condo.

✱ There’s a scheduled power outage tomorrow starting at 8am that would last for 5-6 hours and we’re not sure how to prepare for it. I know this happens yearly but I always forget. I guess we were never really bothered because it’s usually raining when this happens so it’s cold enough to sit through? I also don’t think our fridge would defrost too much. Oh well.

✱ It’s 8:37PM and I just got back from moving my car and having dinner.

✱ I was gonna eat at Kaya Korean Restaurant but saw that it’s already gone at Stopover and is replaced by this new Korean-Chinese restaurant that doesn’t even have Samgyup. I was devastated. It’s bad enough that Dragon T is already gone and Potato Corner doesn’t have wasabi anymore, but damn, BGC Stopover is becoming lame with all my favorite stores closing down! 🙁

✱ Anyway, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I finally got to try Soban K-Town grill which I have been curious about for a while now but didn’t have the courage to ask if they allowed only 1 diner per table. Turns out they do! And they have better side dishes than Kaya! I love it. I ordered marinated Woosamgyup and feasted on the sides. Here’s the aftermath of my Korean side dish degustation which left me really bloated. Remind me not to eat rice next time? By the time I got up I knew I ate too much of something because my left foot hurts! Like there’s a painful sting when walking. Not the first time it happened. I blame the kimchi, but also won’t stop eating it.

✱ I walked back and passed by Dot coffee to get hot cafe latte. I also bought this kalamansi protein bar thingy which is really just a lemon bar in my opinion. I don’t know why they had to make it sound healthy lol it’s not like their brand screams healthy. Imo they’re pretty much just like Pickup Coffee, with their burnt beans and good whole milk haha.

Alright, back to work!

 Daily writing prompt

What was the last thing you searched for online? Why were you looking for it?

Way to remind me to keep working!

I was searching for why I could not connect to a certain azure database. I’ve been doing some trial and error with the userID and password but still couldn’t get it to connect via UiPath. I do, however, can connect to the database straight from SSMS so I know I just need to find where it doesn’t click. Could be the user ID format, or the password, I don’t know.

I just recently updated my computer to Windows 11 and the update was pretty quick. What I don’t like though is how you can’t adjust the taskbar height as I want it shorter. And also I can’t adjust the width of the Start menu. Not that I use it a lot. Other that that I have no major complaints yet. I did notice the preference for rounded corners in this version. All app windows now have rounded corners lol. Idk isn’t that just a fad?

Anyway.

Back to work.

Choresday

Urghhh I am so freaking tired.

I’m on a personal time off today because I have so many chores and errands to do in preparation for the upcoming long weekend. Somehow my extrovert of a husband managed to fill all our free days with visitors and an out of town with his friends so here I am scrambling to prepare food for both ocassions. Don’t get me wrong, I love being part of happenings like this, as someone who doesn’t have a lot going on in her life lol. Today was just rather exhausting because I was standing a lot in the kitchen.

I went to my PT session this noon…

Then to Shang to buy some stuff at Mercury…

When I got home I did some general cleaning (vacuumed and mopped)…

And then i prepared a lot of food:

  • Our dinner, buffalo chicken thigh wraps
  • Tomorrow’s dinner: Italian meatballs. I prepared the mixture in advance so I just have to airfry them tomorrow
  • And our weekend food: liempo sauce and marinade

Tomorrow is another day. Our guests are arriving before dinner and I need to cook so much! Waaah!

We also need to head out to the grocery to buy more stuff for the weekend

I miss my parents. I haven’t been able to hang out with them in two weeks huhu

Right now I’m just sitting on the computer, typing this, in a while I’ll get to work because guess what I also have a lot of work to catch up on! It’s almost September and my deadlines are looming!

Where did your name come from?

 Daily writing prompt

Where did your name come from?

Oh I know it came from the Ariane product line by Avon and my mom just added a second name for some reason; I never asked hehe. If I remember correctly one of my aunts suggested it after my mom gave birth cos she was selling Avon stuff haha. And my mom bought it. I don’t think my parents really thought much of my name though. Whereas my sister got hers from the formulaic mommy + daddy’s names hehe.

Kinda nostalgic looking at the product. I remember looking it up waaaay back and I loved it, the simple script, the color, the name of course haha. I also remember being gifted the perfume powder and I hated the smell cos it was too strong. And I was also too young and thought it didn’t suit me. I just don’t like perfumy stuff that’s all haha.

How about you, do you know what you were named after?

Heya

✱ I just uploaded Vlog 272! Check it out on YouTube → Weekly Monotony (Aug 5-11 2024 Vlog)

✱ I just finished updating my blog layout (for the nth time) because it keeps on getting messed up whenever I make an update. Something about the plugins I have is messing up my theme and whenever I try to fix it, I end up changing a lot of other things lol. Here’s to hoping I stick with this one.

What I discovered was causing the problem is the Gutenberg plugin. I disabled it and the issues are gone. Well, mostly.

✱ My PT sessions at St. Luke’s are looking great. Hope to make good progress with them.

✱ I’ve been trying to be more active lately. Walking Koomi after work, getting Jeckie to teach me badminton footwork, swimming at times, anything that amounts to at least 45 mins of workout a day haha. I haven’t been that religious in doing the 75 Hard (soft version) but I like that it makes me want to to be active every day. The thing about this challenge is that most of the tasks are fairly easy so you get to finish them effortlessly, motivating you to do the hardest part (45 min workout) so you can cap the day off on a good note. So far I’m loving it! Plus I get progress in reading A Little Life, which at this point I’m giving a 3/5. I’m 92% finished so we’ll see!

✱ We brought in the car for repair at the dealership last Tuesday. I thought we were gonna be able to get it before the weekend but the agent told me they found a small crack at the grill and would have to get approval from insurance first before they could fix it. Urgh. It’s so difficult moving around without a car, specially with a dog, and in this rainy season!

Oh well.

Have a good day!

Tips for Boutique Owners on Choosing High-Quality Sweatshirts | Advice For Retailers on Buying Bulk Sweatshirts From Wholesalers

Boutique store owners will be aware that in order for a sweatshirt to be considered ‘high quality,’ it needs to balance comfort and durability – with modern style and contemporary trendsetting features. In this article, we’ll offer helpful tips for boutique owners looking for high-quality sweatshirts, especially if they seek to bulk buy from trusted wholesalers.

Tips for boutique owners on choosing high-quality sweatshirts and buying bulk sweatshirts:

Tip 1: Get The Best Fabric

Let’s be honest: we rely on sweatshirts for all types of weather and climates, meaning your customers will be looking for something with the highest quality fabric when shopping for sweatshirts.

With that in mind, fabric composition is probably the most important feature in delineating high-quality and low-quality sweatshirts. Common sweatshirt materials obviously include cotton, polyester, fleece, and blends, while the highest-quality products typically use combed cotton or a cotton-polyester blend (which offers both softness and durability). Materials with a higher percentage of cotton are more breathable and comfortable, meaning they’re better suited for changing weather conditions.

If you have a trusted wholesaler from whom you buy bulk sweatshirts, you’ll be able to check out the composition of their products yourself, to help you better understand sweatshirt quality.

Tip 2: Think About the Stitching

If you’re a boutique store owner, you’ll want to inspect the stitching quality of the bulk sweatshirts you’re purchasing.

Bear in mind that double-stitched seams and reinforced areas (such as at the shoulders and armholes) will indicate durability and longevity. It should also be noted that quality sweatshirts will have a smooth finish, with no loose threads; these details will indicate a garment’s long lifespan, and they’ll also let your customers know that they are receiving something made of good quality.

Tip 3: Consider the Prevailing Styles

Quality isn’t all about stitching, fabric, and construction – it’s also about trends, fits, and styles.

The bulk sweatshirts you choose should align with your target market and let your customers know they’re making a statement with your purchase; this might mean choosing garments that are stylish at the moment, or it can mean purchasing wholesale products that go against the grain, offering fashion alternatives to your clientele.

Tip 4: Don’t Neglect Color, Print, and Branding Opportunities

High-quality screen printing, aesthetically pleasing colors, meticulous embroidery, and designs that are durable in all conditions – these are the hallmarks of the best, most unique sweatshirts out there.

In the modern-day world, your customers will want their sweatshirts to make a statement, so having excellent print sweatshirts can showcase high quality and desirability – as well as net you a lot of profit.

Tip 5: Learn About Washing and Care Instructions

The highest-quality sweatshirts are the ones that are straightforward for customers to care for.

While different fabrics will require different wash cycles or cleaning instructions, you should learn everything there is to know about how your customers might care for their products. Ideally, you’ll want to choose bulk sweatshirt options that can withstand regular machine washing without losing their shape, color, or softness.
