Heya

✱ I just uploaded Vlog 272! Check it out on YouTube → Weekly Monotony (Aug 5-11 2024 Vlog)

✱ I just finished updating my blog layout (for the nth time) because it keeps on getting messed up whenever I make an update. Something about the plugins I have is messing up my theme and whenever I try to fix it, I end up changing a lot of other things lol. Here’s to hoping I stick with this one.

What I discovered was causing the problem is the Gutenberg plugin. I disabled it and the issues are gone. Well, mostly.

✱ My PT sessions at St. Luke’s are looking great. Hope to make good progress with them.

✱ I’ve been trying to be more active lately. Walking Koomi after work, getting Jeckie to teach me badminton footwork, swimming at times, anything that amounts to at least 45 mins of workout a day haha. I haven’t been that religious in doing the 75 Hard (soft version) but I like that it makes me want to to be active every day. The thing about this challenge is that most of the tasks are fairly easy so you get to finish them effortlessly, motivating you to do the hardest part (45 min workout) so you can cap the day off on a good note. So far I’m loving it! Plus I get progress in reading A Little Life, which at this point I’m giving a 3/5. I’m 92% finished so we’ll see!

✱ We brought in the car for repair at the dealership last Tuesday. I thought we were gonna be able to get it before the weekend but the agent told me they found a small crack at the grill and would have to get approval from insurance first before they could fix it. Urgh. It’s so difficult moving around without a car, specially with a dog, and in this rainy season!

Oh well.

Have a good day!

Tips for Boutique Owners on Choosing High-Quality Sweatshirts | Advice For Retailers on Buying Bulk Sweatshirts From Wholesalers

Boutique store owners will be aware that in order for a sweatshirt to be considered ‘high quality,’ it needs to balance comfort and durability – with modern style and contemporary trendsetting features. In this article, we’ll offer helpful tips for boutique owners looking for high-quality sweatshirts, especially if they seek to bulk buy from trusted wholesalers.

Tips for boutique owners on choosing high-quality sweatshirts and buying bulk sweatshirts:

Tip 1: Get The Best Fabric

Let’s be honest: we rely on sweatshirts for all types of weather and climates, meaning your customers will be looking for something with the highest quality fabric when shopping for sweatshirts.

With that in mind, fabric composition is probably the most important feature in delineating high-quality and low-quality sweatshirts. Common sweatshirt materials obviously include cotton, polyester, fleece, and blends, while the highest-quality products typically use combed cotton or a cotton-polyester blend (which offers both softness and durability). Materials with a higher percentage of cotton are more breathable and comfortable, meaning they’re better suited for changing weather conditions.

If you have a trusted wholesaler from whom you buy bulk sweatshirts, you’ll be able to check out the composition of their products yourself, to help you better understand sweatshirt quality.

Tip 2: Think About the Stitching

If you’re a boutique store owner, you’ll want to inspect the stitching quality of the bulk sweatshirts you’re purchasing.

Bear in mind that double-stitched seams and reinforced areas (such as at the shoulders and armholes) will indicate durability and longevity. It should also be noted that quality sweatshirts will have a smooth finish, with no loose threads; these details will indicate a garment’s long lifespan, and they’ll also let your customers know that they are receiving something made of good quality.

Tip 3: Consider the Prevailing Styles

Quality isn’t all about stitching, fabric, and construction – it’s also about trends, fits, and styles.

The bulk sweatshirts you choose should align with your target market and let your customers know they’re making a statement with your purchase; this might mean choosing garments that are stylish at the moment, or it can mean purchasing wholesale products that go against the grain, offering fashion alternatives to your clientele.

Tip 4: Don’t Neglect Color, Print, and Branding Opportunities

High-quality screen printing, aesthetically pleasing colors, meticulous embroidery, and designs that are durable in all conditions – these are the hallmarks of the best, most unique sweatshirts out there.

In the modern-day world, your customers will want their sweatshirts to make a statement, so having excellent print sweatshirts can showcase high quality and desirability – as well as net you a lot of profit.

Tip 5: Learn About Washing and Care Instructions

The highest-quality sweatshirts are the ones that are straightforward for customers to care for.

While different fabrics will require different wash cycles or cleaning instructions, you should learn everything there is to know about how your customers might care for their products. Ideally, you’ll want to choose bulk sweatshirt options that can withstand regular machine washing without losing their shape, color, or softness.

So lazy

I don’t know what to do with my chronic procrastination now. It’s already Friday and I haven’t done anything productive at work. I am so dead.

I have two projects I haven’t started working on AT ALL. I have one that’s pretty daunting because it involves getting data from multiple sources and putting it on an Excel template that has formulas and everything. And there’s a part in there where I have a get a random sample size from the data and distribute it evenly to a set of users. Quite a challenge if you ask me. Which is why I have been putting it off for so long. I just can’t deal with it. My brain isn’t braining with this one. I’m too stupefied.

The other one looks manageable but because I’m too scared to start the first one with the Excel template, I couldn’t start with this one. Get what I mean? Aaaargh. And I really need to make progress because we have a checkpoint next week and I need this automations out in one to two month’s time.

Lord, help me!

Life lately

I feel like my hips are so tight that I need to release them but I don’t know how to do it properly.

✱ Work lately has been uhm, busy. I mean I should be busy but I’m still pretty scared to face most of my projects lol.

✱ I just started doing physical therapy at St. Luke’s BGC. It’s very different from Healthway Shang that’s for sure. For one, it’s a hospital so they have a bigger gym and have more equipment, but it also means the queue is longer for a single appointment. I had to wait a month to get a consult, and another month to start my PT. It’s also much farther, and parking is hell so there’s no way I’m bringing a car next time. Hopefully I get to progress with them.

✱ I just joined a challege I saw online. It’s called 75 Hard Challenge, but I’m working on the “soft” version because it’s much easier. In this challenge you have 6 daily tasks to accomplish,

  1. Workout for 45mins
  2. Read 10 pages of any book
  3. Drink 1.5L of water (custom)
  4. Eat healthy
  5. No alcohol
  6. Take a progress picture

You do that for 75 days straight and you win! It’s more of a mental challenge than anything else. The HARD version requires you to workout 2x a day at 45mins each session, where one should be outdoors. That’s that hardest part of the challenge for sure. At least with the soft version, I can log my PT sessions as workout sessions because I workout in them. Then I can just walk my dog for 45 mins on other days haha.

I have no problem doing 5 and 6 cos they’re easy peasy I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t prep myself for the progress picture I just take a mirror selfie.

Reading 10 pages is hard though. I thought I’d use it as a chance to finally finish A Little Life but it’s proving to be very difficult still. Urgh. I’m trying.

As for #4 as long as I don’t order out, our fridge is mostly filled with healthy food so I can manage. And besides, I’m pretty broke haha.

That’s pretty much it I guess I’ll just ease into this challenge and enjoy the journey. See what comes out of it! 😀

✱ How are you? 😀

All the meds I’m taking this flu season

I’ve been terribly sick the past few days and now is the only time I’m able to look at my computer for more than 30 minutes without getting a headache, so here’s an update!

I’m not completely well. Thursday evening I started to feel like I’m about to get sick. I predicted that in my previous post. I thought blogging about it would jinx it lol but now I learned it doesn’t work that way HAHA. My blog isn’t that strong to jinx any upcoming sickness. Oh maybe because I didn’t plan for it haha.

Anyway. Since Thursday night I’ve had fevers, dry cough, headaches, colds, and now sore throat. My sore throat was worst yesterday, glad to say I’m starting to feel better but still watching for my fever.

I’ve been on Tuseran Forte for the most part, taking it every 6 hours. Then when the dry cough transitioned to regular cough after 3 days, I switched to bioflu. It sucks. It really sucks being sick. I’m lying on the bed shivering, praying for sleep to come. I didn’t have a lot of fighting spirit in me, not that I want to die, I just want to be able to sleep peacefully and wake up fine. But most nights I wake up feeling more sick. It was dreadful. My headache lasted for days aaargh.

Anyway, today is a good day. I feel much better, though my throat is still a bit dry and cough is still there, I haven’t had any fevers today so that’s a clear good sign.

I was able to clock in at work though I have to cancel an early meeting because I just couldn’t make it too early. Then my manager asked me if I could talk about our automation updates in our team meeting tonight. I said of course I could. So I checked the slide she has for me and made a script for all the items in there. Unfortunately halfway through the meeting we had to reschedule because of a possible P1 incident that everyone on the team needs to look into. So yey for the delay? I don’t know, I kinda want to get over it already haha #stress.

On the plus side I won 2nd place in the ice breaker we had earlier! Trivia questions are fun, I also learned a lot! 😀

Back to the title!

Here are all the meds I took that helped in my recovery. I didn’t need to go to the ER because my sore throat subsided in a day.

  • Tuseran Forte – every 6 hours for fever and dry cough
  • Immunpro Ascorbic Acid – I double dosed these days but still got sick. Maybe I was too late?
  • Betadine nasal spray – as needed when nose is very clogged
  • Kamillosan – when my sore throat kicked in
  • Bactidol mouthwash – gargle twice a day (10ml) for 30 seconds, in 10 second intervals
  • Bioflu – when the dry cough is over
  • Nasatapp tabs – for the ocassional allergic rhinitis attack

I also make myself hot ginger tea with honey because it’s the best thing for the throat and tastes really good. Whenever I’m sick like this I couldn’t drink coffee because it tastes different and glides weirdly on my tongue. Like the texture feels different when I’m sick, I just couldn’t drink it, it makes my mouth dry. So I avoid that and drink tea instead.

I didn’t have a lot of appetite these days and find myself eating only once a day and when I do I almost always want to eat rice and soup. I had Manam’s sinigang twice and something from North Park so we could order soup. I also found myself craving for my mom’s lugaw but I forgot to tell her how sick I was so that’s sad. I could’ve had my sister deliver it to me on the weekend. I would really love to eat her lugaw with fried fish. Hay.

Oh well, hope to recover fully soon! My husband has just been sick so there’s really something going around these days.

Take care!

Urghh

Internet has just been restored after being gone for almost 3 days. Thankfully we were able to manage working on a hotspot. But it was hella spotty. Specially in this rain. Converge did a new thing where they proactively tell you they’re aware of the outage along with a ticket number, but all it really did is minimize the tickets they get. As for the impact and criticality, I doubt they’re aware. I would much rather flood them with tickets so they get a sense of urgency at least.

That proactive thing they did, as much as I tried to appreciate it, might work better if they actually gave real meaningful updates, like what caused the issue and if they’ve already dispatched someone to fix it. But nope, every time one of our neighbors would call them, they were given a spiel that only sounds like they’re aware of the issue and is working on it. No timeline, no other status. Sucks right? When your customers are agitated the least you can do is reassure them properly. But nah. I guess they don’t pay their CSR enough to get that kind of training.

Anyway. I’m just glad the internet is back.

I feel I’m about to get sick. I just downed two doses of Vitamin C to hopefully counter it is but I’m starting to feel the weakness crawling in. Maybe because I got tired from rehab earlier. I was sick two days ago, I was down with allergies and colds but thankfully I was able to recover the next day. My husband, though, has been sick for 3 days now. Hope he recovers soon. It’s difficult taking care of the sick when you’re feeling sick yourself.

I have a boatload of things to do at work but I’m too tired and sleepy and quite frankly I just want to rest tonight. The weather has been really bad the past few days. Lots of areas flooded. My parents’ basement got flooded too, so they were very busy cleaning things up.

Praying for the storm to pass and to start feeling better.

An unexpected enjoyment

Walking around BGC when it just rained hits different. I’ve never walked in BGC after a rain. Generally, I hate walking outside when it just rained. It’s humid, it’s slippery, it could rain again, air gets filled with sweat, it stinks, etc. There are so many things I hate about the prospect so I just avoid it entirely.

But Monday afternoon I was forced to. I had to walk back to the office after an event from another site. The rain had stopped but it was still drizzling in some areas. But instead of rushing to my destination I decided to savor it. After all I couldn’t afford to rush. I could slip and die.

I didn’t want to sweat so I just walked slowly. Taking videos like I used to. Admiring the sheen on the pavement, the vibrance of the trees, the refreshing smell of the earth – petrichor it’s called. All of a sudden, BGC didn’t seem so urban to me. For a while it looked like it had a soul. Not that it didn’t have one, I’m sure its bottomless pit is filled with the souls of the untiring working class. But that day, when it just rained, it feels like nature had touched it. Like the city was being pet by mother nature, reminding the all-consuming slave driving city that it is to take a break and let its beauty show.

Oh well, I’m just here romanticizing the novelty of my experience. I know I won’t take a step out next time when it just rained.
