Jeckie is sick, Koomi just vomited three times and I’ve just finished stowing away our groceries and marinating pork for dinner later. I have yet to take a bath and do an alcohol sponge bath for my husband to help cool down his fever. I fed Koomi banana and bread, not banana bread hehe, to ease his stomach. He didn’t eat much last night so that figures. Half of our 13th month just came in, and I just realized I made the mistake of eating a lot and buying so much stuff online that I could only hope to save even half of what I got today. Our dashcam finally broke. It’s been acting up for a while, so I quickly ordered something new. We’re driving out of town this weekend so it’s essential to get it fixed. Overall I feel a bit productive this early in the day (it’s almost 6pm), but not completely because I haven’t done anything work related. I decided to work from home today because everyone’s sick. Looking forward to dinner!

Heya
// Happy for our condo community. They’ve been fighting to get residents elected on the board because our PMO is incompetent and DMCI reps can’t be trusted. Condo’s been operating on a ~50M deficit without a solid recovery plan besides increasing the association dues and collecting special fees. I really have no contribution to this win because I chose to be a bystander. I’m renting through an agent to it’s difficult to get a proxy, plus my landlord isn’t in good standing so there’s that. Hopefully our condo improves. I just really want the elevators to be faster.
// I have a lot of gripes about Citi moving to UB but there’s a feature I’m enjoying right now and that is the ability to download your credit card statement into an excel format. Makes it easier to cross-check my expenses from another sheet that I maintain. ❤
// We finally got the car back today. The damages have been fixed and we paid 2k for participation. We were supposed to get the sidemirror fixed as well but we couldn’t wait til Friday for it, right when there are 2 holidays this week. We badly need a car. Didn’t realize we were so car dependent haha.
// I’m tired trying to fix the template of this site. For the life of me I can’t figure out why the single post looks different in mobile vs desktop. I thought it was just a cache issue but I’ve already cleared it and nada. It’s frustrating. I’m happy to have reached a point where I’m okay with however it looks. It’s just that I know I’d be bothered by it sooner or later lol. But till then, whatever.
// I’m in the office right now for my weekly RTO. Was supposed to be on PTO today but Jeckie didn’t manage to get a leave so I figured I’ll just work then.
// I’m way past my fasting window, it’s been 18 hours, but I can’t decide what to eat. Alright I’ll just go out and see what catches my attention.

Changing themes
I give up. My site just randomly changes its default colors and I don’t understand why. I’m using the Stewart theme which originally has maroon as the primary color. I was able to change that but just recently it’s been crazy.
I’m changing themes and hoping for the best.

Broken theme
I have no idea what the hell happened to my theme but all of the sudden the styling is off and I have to sit for hours to fix a lot of things. Fonts, colors, margins, etc.
I think it’s a theme issue? I’m not entirely sure but it sucks.
My header font isn’t working and I can’t fix it. Whenever I try to reinstall it, nothing happens, it just reverts to the default serif font. Urgh. It’s annoying.
Seems like there’s a whole world of problems within WordPress that I may not be ready for.

Life lately: Burgers and milkshakes
Daily writing prompt
Oh you mean the ability to work from home? Fantastic, and quite frankly long overdue. But the mandatory masking in some places like the hospital, I find unnecessary at this point.
↪ Burgers and milkshake night
We had burgers and milkshake yesterday. It was a great dinner. Some things are just better made at home right? Like burgers, when you have the time and money to spare for quality ingredients. Our patty is made of ground beef sirlion, garlic powder, onion, salt, pepper, cornstarch, egg, and worcestershire sauce. We used buttered brioche buns, and I made a burger sauce from mayo, ketchup, mustard, and worcestershire. Then we have lettuce, tomatoes, and Colby Jack cheese! For the milkshake, we blended ube ice cream with milk. We so love it. Burgers and milkshake is one of the best food combinations ever. ♥
↪ Another year of Skillshare
I forgot to cancel my Skillshare so I was charged another year. I really need to use it now, sayang naman all the Procreate tutorials I could learn.
↪ Car dependent
Car’s out for repairs so we had to rely on Grab for everything. But since we have Koomi it’s difficult to move around. I don’t see Grab Pet on the app despite it being advertised recently, but also, based on the press release it’s always gonna be a six-seater premium and I think it’s too much for us. I thought it was gonna be just a simple checkbox on the app that lets the driver know you have a pet with you, or something. Oh well.
Hope we get the car back soon.
↪ Locker move
Finally had my locker moved from another floor. First time I was issued a locker it was placed on a different floor because our area is full. Thankfully there are vacant ones on our floor now so yeyy. I could finally leave a headset and tumbler at the office! ♥
↪ Koomi’s cough
Taking Koomi to the vet tonight because he’s coughing, not finishing his food, and has wet poops. Hope to get a nice Grab that would let us take him in the car. ♥

Eggs Royale
I have a new favorite at Mary Grace. It used to be Vigan Longganisa, then a couple of weeks ago I really came to love their Salmon with creamy dill sauce and couscous rice. I had it twice that week. But the serving is too much. I couldn’t enjoy dessert afterwards so I tried something smaller. I found their bread based items to be the right amount. I had Eggs Royale!
I so love this dish because it’s fulfilling and leaves enough space for dessert – a slice of tiramisu and a cup of double shot americano.
I just came from a 16-hour fast so this was every bit rewarding for me.
Eggs Royale is smoked salmon on whole wheat batard, arugula, tomatoes, poached egg, hollandaise sauce and caviar. Ah, it’s heavenly.

Happy Friday
#1
Went to the auto shop earlier to have the car assessed after getting into a minor accident last week. My husband accidentally hit a post while backing up from my sister’s condo’s driveway. It’s nice to finally take a step towards getting the car fixed. I mean the real first step was calling insurance to let them know and ask what to do. Which I made three days ago. So yey, that’s two action items for this claim.
#2
Left Koomi at daycare before heading to the office today. My husband has an important demo tonight and I’m going to the office so we figured he can’t be bothered when Koomi suddenly decides to poop while he’s in a call. Specially that I’m not at home.
#3
Now I’m in the office doing actual work lol.
I’m in the second day of my 16:8 fast. I’ve only had black coffee, which doesn’t break my fast and I’m looking forward to dinner.
#4
I just had dinner from Kaya. I’ve been craving for Korean food lately. Largely because I’m currently watching Crash Course in Romance, whose main character owns a banchan restaurant. I had samgyup. It was lovely.

Happy that HSBC finally tagged my credit card with No Annual Fee For Life. They’ve been charging me an annual fee for two years and I kept on complaining about it. They would waive it, but whenever I escalate that I shouldn’t be getting an annual fee in the first place, they don’t seem to get it. After pestering them about it, I finally landed an agent who understood my problem. And even then, when it was routed to the correct team, they still don’t understand the issue. After a couple of emails they finally got what my problem was and found that they forgot to tag my card properly. They explained that the first time they got my application, it was denied, then a couple days later they reconsidered and missed the tagging.
You know what I learned from dealing with them? Never lay out your complain completely. Don’t give them all the details because some people cannot digest a whole story. Let them discover your issue one question at a time. I mean, I gave every single detail every single time and they always miss the point. It’s frustrating. Originally, my emails went something like this:
Hi team. Why is my card not tagged as No Annual Fee for Life? I applied on the website during the promo period Sep 1 – Dec 31 2021 (insert screenshot of promo) and got approved Dec 29 (insert screenshot of approval sms) and I’m still being charged an annual fee. Please check.
Then they would respond with something stupid like…
Hi Ms. Dave, upon checking, your card is qualified for an annual fee waiver for this year. We have waived your annual fee and it will reflect on your next billing. Annual Fees are charged to the customer to ensure that we maintain quality service blah blah blah.
It took me several calls to land an agent who understood my problem and agreed that I should in fact be tagged as NAFFL. But when it was routed to the complaints team, they responded with essentially the same message. And I had to reiterate my question, why do I not qualify for NAFFL? And that’s the only time I felt like they actually looked into my problem. I mean, what’s the point of escalating when you’re just gonna respond the same? Urgh.
Point is, I now have three NAFFL cards yey. I was gonna cut my RCBC card because it doesn’t qualify for NAFFL but they just increased my limit so we’ll see.

I had a credit adjustment today due to a discrepancy in my bonus tax computation. Yey for an extra 3k, sakto I’m already broke!
Happy Weekend!
