[Recipe] Microwaved Mug Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream

Thank you Nuffnang and My Great Food! <3
yesterday i picked up this uber heavy loot from Nuffnang! thank you soooo much! i won this as consolation prize for joining their San Miguel #MyGreatFoodIn15Seconds contest where i shared a super easy Nacho Salad recipe using select Pure Foods and Magnolia products. will post about it soon (uhm.. promise XD).

anyway, when i checked the bags, i instantly picked out Magnolia Devils Food Cake cake mix because ooooooh! it's the perfect chance to try making a microwaved mug cake! i've always been curious about it! XD

aaand i did! the last time i tried my hands on baking was when i was in highschool. i tried to make a banana cake for my friends but they confused it for some kind of a pudding so i realized naaaaah, not for me.

i do however, enjoy assisting my sister when she bakes cookies or tuna turnovers. i love messing with her doughs haha. XD

oryt, here's the super easy recipe. i did the batter last night, and brought it to the office cos we didn't have a microwave at home. haha

Ingredients:
- Magnolia Devil's Food Cake cake mix (150g)
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup oil
- Magnolia Vanilla Ice Cream

everything's quite on the box you know! haha

Procedure:
- just mix everything except for the ice cream. if you have an electric beater good for you! but if you don't, ready a fork cos you're up for a good arm exercise!

well, if you need more guidance on this part, what i did was:
- put the cake mix in a bowl
- add 1 cup water and mix thorougly
- when it's mixed well, add the 1/2 cup oil. it will gloss up to a pretty shiny fudge :3
- then add the eggs and mix altogether until it's in a very thick and shiny fudgey consistency. the batter's done!
- place some 2-3tbsp. of the batter on a mug and microwave for 2-3 minutes. :D
- serve with vanilla ice cream on top! or whipped cream! OR BOTH!!! <3

Microwaving tips (naks):
- the longer you microwave it, the harder the cake gets so make sure you don't over cook it if you want it mejo moist. mine was kindof dry and hard at the bottom. though it looks moist on the outside i gathered it's probably just the oil hehe
- as much as possible, put only 1 mug at a time. shared this with my officemates so we crammed 5 mugs in the oven. the result was, it didn't rise so much, but it was cooked fine naman. none of that round cute fluffy top though huhu.
- max the batter to 2-3tbsp. per mug, you don't want it to overflow and well, you need space for TOPPINGS! <3

that's it! very very easy and straightforward. just do the mix and microwave! best with vanilla ice cream so far! looking to make some other cake flavors like PANCAKES MAYBE? with whipped cream and maple syrup, or even blueberries. OMG i have to buy a microwave T____T

Dog Food (mixed rice) recipe from I Hear Your Voice

today i'm gonna be sharing a super duper simple recipe of my latest food addiction, conveniently named Dog Food, not because you can serve it to your dogs (i thought i had to clarify this haha), i'm not even sure if your dogs will like it, anyway, it was called that way because i don't wanna argue with Park Soo Ha. hahaha

WARNING: do not feed to your dogs. this is not actual dog food. it could kill them. who knows.

usually i post a picture of the finished dish first diba, but i won't indulge cos i'm afraid you won't make it to the end of the post. HAHAHA

exciting!

this dish was taken from the korean drama I Hear Your Voice. Atty. Jang always prepares this for herself cos she's always in a hurry, so you get the idea that this food is so freakin easy to prepare.

screen caps all taken from episode 13 of the series.

here you go!

Ingredients:
2 cups of rice
1 canned tuna
2 tbsp of gochujang paste
2 tbsp of sesame oil

Procedure:
mix altogether! srsly, how easy could this get? hahaha

see that! not much of a procedure no, and that's about it!

now for a localized version, the only difference is that we're sitting out the sesame oil, cos our canned tunas are already brimming with oil. and personally we liked it better without it hehe

2 cups of rice, 1 can Century Tuna in vegetable oil, and 1 tbsp gochujang paste
 tada!

if you're curious about the paste which is a major major ingredient here, here's what we have: Maeil Shin Gojuchang (Hot Red Pepper Paste). it's available in most supermarkets nationwide. bought this over at SM Supermarket last year for 128 pesos, buy 1 take 1. hehe

finally, since it serves two, share it with someone you love hihi. or just someone who can tolerate the mess. haha
<3
this has just officially become a bonding food for me and my sister.

a 10 minute kitchen wonder! --- Veggie Pizza Roll

see? my sister and i just made this awhile ago and called it, Veggie Pizza Roll. inspired (or brutally speaking -- stolen/copied/improvised) from Plato Wraps' very veggie! of course, we're great eh! :D

Ingredients?

Green Bell Pepper
Red Bell Pepper
White Onions
Canned mushrooms
Cheese
Tomato ketchup (or pizza sauce)
Olive oil (or just any oil)
Tortilla wraps

Procedure?

slice every vegetable in the list. green and red bell peppers are preferrably in thin strips. mix altogether. add a bit of olive oil. saute in a pan for a few minutes, like 5 minutes, depends on you. hehe. on the tortilla wrap, put a tablespoon of tomato ketchup, spread evenly. then put on the mixed veggies, top it with grated cheese, then close it with a toothpick like how you see above. heat in the oven for 3 minutes. we did ours for 5 minutes that's why the top is kinda burned. hehehe

that's it! :D

you should have something like

hehehe :D

oh, the proportion of the veggies are all up to you. we didn't have any recipe with us when we did this. it's very easy anyway. :D we decided to do this on our own because at Plato Wraps, a veggie wrap costs 50 pesos already (around 1$) and that's too expensive. when we went to the grocery awhile ago we learned why it was priced like that...

olive oil is expensive, tortilla wraps it expensive, and the most expensive of all is the RED BELL PEPPER (215 pesos/kilo!!!!), they also have sesame seeds but since it's not a dominant factor we didn't include anymore (where the hell do you get those anyway!)!!! i never knew it was that pricey until now. -_____-;;

but still, if you could do it on your own, that's gonna save you a lot of money already! :D

coffee bliss!

i made this by myself! due to my craving for coffee!!! XD

just a recap on the recipe =)

ingredients:
::1 sachet nescafe 3-in-1 coffee (1 sachet/serving)
:: 1/4 - 1/2 cup nestle all purpose cream (depends on your preference on how creamy your want the mixture to be)
:: 1 cup cold water (ratio is 1 cup water/1sachet of coffee)
:: 1 tbspn brown sugar plus another tspn. (separate yun)
:: i tspn. KHAN COFFEE LIQUOR
:: 2 pinches of nescafe classic

so far yun lng naaalala ko... bahala na kau sa procedure! haha... bsta you need a blender!

unleash the coffee bliss!
haha... XD

[edit]
you have to blend the coffee mixture seperately from the cream. the thing here is to whip the cream until it gets sort of fluffy like a whipped cream. you top it on the coffee mixture and sprinkle with brown sugar and nescafe classic powder.
